The Munao Zongge Festival is the grandest traditional festival of the Jingpo people. In the Jingpo settlements of Qingping Township, the Munao Zongge Festival is held around the 15th day of the first lunar month every year, and every village and hamlet will hold Munao Zongge. In normal times, every time there is a festival or celebration, each village will dance the Munao Zongge at the right time. "Munao" is the Jingpo language, and "Zongge" is a direct translation of the Zai Wa language, which means that everyone should dance together. In the Jingpo settlements of Dehong Prefecture, the Munao Zongge Festival is held around the 15th day of the first lunar month every year, and every village and hamlet will hold Munao Zongge. In order to develop the economy, promote Jingpo culture, and facilitate tourists to participate, the local government sometimes adjusts the time slightly. The Munao Zongge was originally a grand sacrificial activity held for the largest sun god "Mudai". In the Jingpo village, the Munao songs can be divided into 10 types according to their contents, such as "Mudai" Munao for worshipping Mudaigui, "Daru" Munao for going to war, "Kela" Munao for important welcoming guests or festivals, "Zhubali" Munao for celebrating birthdays, and "Gongrun" Munao during uprisings.
