Lion dance is a folk activity with a long history and national traditional style in my country. Lion awakening is produced along with lion dance. Lion awakening is a kind of lion with southern style. It has a high and narrow forehead, big and movable eyes, wide mouth with pen, wide back, collapsed nose, full cheeks, and teeth that can be hidden or exposed. The lion head is mainly made of bamboo strips and gauze paper, painted with various bright colors. When dancing, the lion's ears, eyes and mouth can all move and look lifelike. Compared with the northern lion, the southern lion is exaggerated and romantic, majestic and majestic, with both form and spirit. Since the late Qing Dynasty, lion awakening shops have gathered on Guangzhou Daxin Street. Lion awakening requires manual skills, and the apprentices are usually led by masters in the shop. Apprentices start from simple basket making and basket bashing. The main materials are bamboo strips, gauze paper, etc. The tools for making are ordinary pliers, scissors, hammers, and oil brushes. The craft of making requires multi-skilled skills and has high requirements for the skills of the artists themselves. The making of a lion dance can be done by one person independently, and it usually takes a week to make a complete lion head.
