It is unique in my country's national architecture and has extremely high historical, scientific, and artistic value. The construction technique of Chaoshan ancient buildings originated in the Tang and Song Dynasties, was popular in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and reached its peak in the Republic of China. It has been passed down for more than a thousand years. Located at the junction of the East China Sea and the South China Sea, the Chaoshan area has been a prosperous port since the Tang and Song Dynasties. The frequent trade on the sea has not been interrupted even during the Ming Dynasty's maritime ban period, which has brought overseas culture to the Chaoshan area. This fusion of the Central Plains, overseas and local cultures over the past thousand years has made Chaoshan culture unique and created a national architectural culture that is still brilliant and has local characteristics today. In 2021, the construction skills of Chaoshan ancient buildings were selected into the list of representative projects of national intangible cultural heritage.
