Shanxi
🎧  Listen to Introduction

Legend of the Orphan of Zhao - Xinjiang Xinjiang County is the only national historical and cultural city in southern Shanxi, the hometown of Chinese folk art, the national advanced cultural county, and one of the four key intangible cultural heritage protection counties identified by the province. Xinjiang, formerly known as Jiangzhou, is the only inheritor of the ancient Jiangdu of Jin during the Spring and Autumn Period. Of course, due to changes in the scope of jurisdiction, Zhaokang Town, Xiangfen County, Linfen City, has been under the jurisdiction of Jiangzhou since then until the Song and Yuan Dynasties. The legend of the Orphan of Zhao took place in the areas of Zhaokang Town, Xinjiang County and Xiangfen County. Many ancient monuments and objects such as the ruins of the ancient Jiangdu, Linggong Terrace, Bujipo, Wusehuai, Zhao Dun Tomb, Temple, Monument, Orphan Hiding Place, Qi Jiang Tomb, Li Ji Tomb, Qi Palace, etc. still exist. Preserving and restoring these traditional monuments and objects is of great significance to the development of tourist routes, the exploration of ancient Jin culture, the enrichment of national cultural heritage, and the promotion of the traditional cultural virtues of the Chinese nation. Due to the long-standing dispute over the location of Gujiang, these historical relics and monuments are on the verge of extinction and disappearance; there are relatively few researchers on the excellent ancient cultural heritage, and they are relatively old, and there is a situation where there is no successor. Therefore, it is very urgent and necessary to organize personnel to preserve, repair, organize and develop the sites and objects related to the legend of the Orphan of Zhao. In 2006, the "Legend of the Orphan of Zhao" was announced as the "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Shanxi Province". (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.) (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
