Crochet lace is made of cotton thread and is hand-knitted with a crochet needle. Although crochet knitting has simple tools and single materials, in the inheritance of more than 100 years, the knitting masters in Xinzhuang area are very good at "coming up with patterns", forming more than 30 basic needles and thousands of patterns. Moreover, by using different combinations of needles, the flower patterns are becoming more and more abundant, and the product colors are constantly renewed. It has a three-dimensional hollow artistic effect, which is both practical and appreciative, and enjoys a high reputation in the international market. From the 1950s to the 1980s, the knitting processing factory in Xinzhuang Town continued to expand, especially after the establishment of the Shanghai County Arts and Crafts Factory, the crochet technology and export business were spread to the city and neighboring counties in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, which had a huge impact. For a long time, it has been the main family sideline in local urban and rural areas, significantly improving the status of women in the family and influencing local folk customs, so it has unique folk cultural value.
