Taozhuang Rolling Dragon
Taozhuang Dragon Rolling is a folk dance performance, divided into two dragons, yellow dragon and green dragon. Each dragon is equipped with a dragon ball. Each dragon is divided into thirteen sections. Red candles are lit in each section and dragon ball. Each dragon is protected by colorful clouds. Dragon dance is mainly carried out in squares or open areas in rural areas, and then the dragon is paraded from village to village. When parading the dragon, the red wax on the dragon head or dragon ball is replaced and given to the family who is praying for a child or suffering from disasters or patients, to show the blessing of God. Taozhuang Dragon Rolling is very grand. When traveling, the big flag, dragon flag, phoenix flag, door flag, centipede flag, square flag, pennant flag, gun, cymbals, opening gong, gong and drum four-piece set, big round lanterns, palace lanterns, card lanterns, flower baskets, etc., with a full set of 260 to 70 people. Most of the performers are men and come from the same family. The main skills of dragon dance are: worshiping the four gods, two dragons scratching itches, two dragons turning over, two dragons grabbing pearls, two dragons playing in the water, snails forming a top, jumping over the dragon gate, etc. Since the founder of Taozhuang Village is said to be a descendant of Tao Yuanming, the words "Tao Tu Gai Wu Liu Tang" are often marked on the road lights of Taozhuang Dragon Rolling (Taozhuang Village was originally called Tao Tu Gai Village). Taozhuang Dragon Rolling has been played since its rise, and it has been passed down from generation to generation. It is an important folk activity for the locals.
