Zhongwei Dragon Dance
The dragon dance in Zhongwei has been passed down for a long time. According to historical records, dragon dance has become one of the main social activities of the Lantern Festival, temple sacrifices and celebrations during the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. The dragon dance in Zhongwei is different from that in the surrounding areas. It has its own unique performance content and form. There are many rules for dragon dance. First of all, the organizer of the dragon dance is the head of the class, who is highly respected, has a prosperous family and a large population. He is also the president of the temple or a master who is enthusiastic and proficient in dragon dance. The dragon dancer must be a young and middle-aged person with a strong body, sufficient physical strength, and cleverness. The performance content pays attention to the formation routines, without mistakes, with out and in, in and out, in and out, high and low, left and right, winding and circuitous, and around the flag to drill the formation, each with a fixed pattern. The basic routines include dragon out, playing in the water, playing with beads, coiling the dragon, around the flag, drilling the formation, jumping the door, etc. During the performance, folk percussion instruments such as large drums, double cymbals, double cymbals, and gongs are used, and the mood is warm and cheerful, and the momentum is mighty and vigorous. Zhongwei dragon dance started in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and has been popular ever since then. The dragons are purchased by temples, chambers of commerce, guilds, and industries. The dragon dance team is organized by the dragon master (basically a fixed staff), and the funds are also provided by the above donors or by begging for donations. There are more than 70 or 80 dragon dance teams in Zhongwei, with nearly 1,000 people. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.) (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
