Ningxia handmade carpet weaving skills are an extension of the fifth batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative projects. As tribute and gift carpets, Ningxia carpets are decorated with peony, passion flower, camellia, osmanthus, dragon and phoenix patterns, auspicious cloud patterns, bat patterns, snow mountain lion patterns, colorful butterfly patterns, etc., which symbolize auspiciousness and wealth. The composition of Ningxia carpets is mainly "metrical". This is a structure widely used in ancient Chinese feng shui and architecture, which emphasizes the coordinated layout of embracing, symmetry and center.
