🎧  Listen to Introduction

During the reign of Emperor Guangxu, Hu Zaixing, the owner of the Hu's Distillery in Peng County, was inspired by seeing a kind of imperial wine in Chengdu. After years of careful exploration and practice, he finally brewed a mellow, sweet and fragrant "fat wine", which was called "Peng County Fat Wine". Most people only heard of it but didn't know its taste. After liberation, the then Peng County Distillery conducted a trial production of "fat wine" under the trademark of "Tian Peng Fat Wine" according to the brewing secret recipe. Due to limited production, it was only used as an internal supply item. In 1971, under the guidance of Hu Youde, the third-generation successor of "Peng County Fat Wine", Peng County Distillery began to officially produce "fat wine" and supply it to the public for sale. Later, during the production period and after the dissolution of Peng County Distillery, the artists of "fat wine" brought their skills to a few distilleries such as "Jiuxi Laojiao", "Pengzhou Distillery" and Tianpeng Liquor Industry, brewing brand products such as "Longmenshan Fat Wine", Tianpeng Fat Wine and "Pengzhou Fat Wine". Since the brewing process of "Pengxian Feijiu" not only includes general brewing technology but also unique and wonderful historical secrets, it is well-made, high-quality and pure, and has certain health-care effects. It is similar to Yunnan's "Yanglin Feijiu" and is deeply loved by people. It has won the Quality Product Awards of Wenjiang District, Chengdu City and Sichuan Province. The production process of Pengxian Feijiu not only includes general brewing technology but also unique and wonderful historical secrets. It introduces the ancient Chinese medicine health care method into the brewing technique. Its brewing process is different from the general traditional method of roasting wine and the general method of making medicinal wine. Its uniqueness and integration have important value in my country's brewing technology. The protection, excavation and research of this technology are of great significance in the inheritance and development of traditional wine culture and the economic development of Pengzhou today.
