The "Zhongxin Heyi Tongzi Dagu Laohui" located in Longquanwu Village, Longquan Town, Mentougou District, was established in 1934 by more than a dozen households including Li Fuwang who opened a lime kiln in the village. Its inheritance is relatively clear. From the initiation to the present, the members who play the big drum have inherited six terms, and the members who play the pot (cymbals) have inherited eight terms. When the Tongzi Dagu marches, the order of the team is very particular. The general arrangement form and the order of marching are: small blue flag, door flag, front collar frame, swing, pot team, big drum team, small yellow flag. During the march, the head of the association commands the changes in the drum beats of the whole team, usually through a "head drum" to issue a secret signal. The performance of the Tongzi Dagu consists of two parts: the big drum and the pot (cymbals). The beating performance of the big drum is the core of the entire meeting file. It not only plays the role of accompaniment, but also is an important part of the whole performance. There are more than 40 sets of drum beats in the Longquanwu Boy's Drum Old Association. The flower drum beat routines that have been preserved include: "Thunderbolt", "Thunderbolt", "Slow Three Hammers", "Little Devil Pushing the Mill", "Magpie Climbing the Branch", "Monkey Picking Teeth", etc. There are two forms of pot performance: the first form is "Standing Pot", which means that the boy stands in place and the pot in his hand beats various rhythms with the drum beats. The second form is "Flower Pot", that is, "Dancing Cymbals" (Playing Pot) performance. The "Central Heyi Boy's Drum Old Association" in Longquanwu, Mentougou District is a traditional folk art form that integrates dance, music, martial arts, and skills by children beating cymbals and adults beating drums. It has a clear inheritance history, obvious artistic characteristics, and rich cultural connotations. It has a certain social influence in various historical periods in modern Beijing and has a strong vitality. It has a certain research value for the history, folk customs, and folk art in Beijing. The boy drum in Longquanwu Village is now showing a trend of lack of successors. The members of the group are relatively old, and the children who perform the flower cymbals have very little time to practice their skills due to heavy learning tasks. The issue of inheritance needs to be solved urgently. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.) (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
