Korean ethnic group drum dance
Long drum dance is known as a pearl in the Korean dance world and has always been cherished by the Korean people. Long drum dance has a history of thousands of years and has always been famous for its elegant and graceful dance posture. The performance of long drum dance is mainly based on soft hand-carrying, shoulder-stretching, magpie-sparrow steps and other movements. The long drum dance is performed in the form of carrying a long drum on the shoulder, holding a drum whip in the right hand, and beating the drum while dancing. The body, drum and spirit are integrated into one, and the dance is highly coordinated and unified. There are many forms of dance, such as solo dance, duet dance and group dance. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, long drum dance has been carefully adapted by Korean dancers, which has enhanced the new era atmosphere and national characteristics, making this art form more and more perfect. The Korean long drum is a two-sided drum with different pitches at both ends. The female long drum dance is elegant, while the male long drum dance is lively and chic. Long drum dance originated from personal performances in agricultural music and dance. At first, it was mainly male solo dance. Later, the impromptu duet performance on the stage had a certain influence on the development of long drum dance, so that long drum dance has many forms such as male and female long drum dance, double long drum dance and long drum group dance. There are two ways to beat the modern long drum: one is that the female dancer uses a drum whip (a thin bamboo whip about one foot long) and a drumstick (a wooden mallet about one foot long with a round and thick end); the other is to use only a drum whip without a drumstick. The former starts with only a drum whip to beat the dance slowly, with the drum inserted on the long drum. When the dance reaches a climax, the drumstick is pulled out to perform skills. The latter dances with the drum whip in hand and follows the music.
