Guzheng is an ancient national plucked instrument with multiple strings and columns. The earliest guzheng had 25 strings. In the Tang and Song dynasties, there were 13 strings, which were later increased to 16, 18, and 21 strings. The most commonly used specification is 21 strings. The main materials used for making it are red sandalwood, mahogany, nanmu, color wood, basswood, pine, and paulownia. Its production is complicated, and the main processes are material selection, modeling, piano surface and groove belly production, accessories installation, lacquering, polishing, fixing the emblem, installing the foot, and stringing, etc., which are basically completed by hand.
