Northeastern drum has been passed down for five generations, lasting more than 200 years. As a major school of Northeastern drum, the "Dongcheng School" has the distinctive characteristics of rich tunes and outstanding expressiveness. It is better than singing drum pieces, and is also better at singing medium and long books; it is suitable for both traditional and modern repertoires. The derivation (origin and evolution) process of the "Dongcheng School" of the Northeastern drum in Yushu is slightly later than Fengdiao, and its historical age and experience are basically the same as those of the "Xicheng School" and "Nancheng School" in Liaoning and the "Xia-" in Heilongjiang, and they are called the five major schools of Northeastern drum. There are many tunes of the "Dongcheng School" of the Northeastern drum in Yushu. There are more than 20 commonly used ones, which can be condensed into 20 words "Si Feng Mei Kao Dong, Wu Cai You Xijing, Da Sang Bei Nan Song, Xiao Zou Mai Guan Qing", each word represents a tune name. Four: Four big mouths, the predecessor of the current two big mouths. Feng: Feng mouth, also known as hard small mouth. Mei: Mei Qing, also known as soft small mouth. Kao: backer. Dong: Dongqiang, also known as Xiaodongqiang, can also be distinguished into big and small due to the change of speed. Wu: Wubakouzi, also known as Liushui. Cai: Caiyunpian. You: Youcheng, also known as Youchengbei or Siliangpian. Xi: Fangxihe, also known as Beikou, which is formed by learning from the Erban singing of Xihe drum. Jing: Jingkou, also known as Fengerliu or Dakouduozi. Da: Dafodiao. Sang: Dang! : Sad tune. (including Dabei, Xiaobei, Yingxiongbei, Laotaibei, Youchengbei, Xichengbei, Qingpingbei, Jingkou Mizi, etc.) Nan: Nancheng, also known as Nancheng Dakou or Ruandakou. Song: Send guests. According to the needs of the storyline, that is, the book's feelings and logic, the artists formed different styles and tunes in the same tune through artistic means such as speed changes and adjustments of strength and weakness, with layers and sections, and transitions. Therefore, some tunes have obvious characteristics of banqiang. This makes it a tune-joined art containing banqiang elements. Commonly used tunes can be divided into: main, auxiliary, special, and introduced; large and small mouth series; hard and soft mouth series. The repertoire and bibliography of the "Dongcheng School" Northeast Drum are numerous and rich, as bright as stars. According to the length, they can be divided into long, medium, and short; according to the content, they can be divided into walking country, robe and belt, swordsman, public case, and strange stories.
