The Korean ethnic group has long practiced the "man returns to the woman's home" marriage, that is, the groom holds the wedding at the bride's home and stays there for several years, and then takes his wife and children back to his own home. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Joseon Dynasty was influenced by Confucianism and tried its best to promote the "personal reception" method of taking the bride back to the groom's home on the wedding day. However, it was difficult to implement due to the resistance of traditional customs, so the "man returns to the woman's home" method was combined with the "personal reception" method to create a compromise "half-personal reception" method: the groom only stayed at the bride's home for two days after the wedding, and took the bride back to the groom's home on the third day. After that, the "half-personal reception" method became the main marriage method of the Korean ethnic group. Before the 1950s, the Korean ethnic group in China used the "half-personal reception" and "personal reception" methods, with the "half-personal reception" method being the main method. After 1950, it was unified into the "personal reception" method and has been used ever since. The traditional Korean marriage includes three parts: marriage negotiation, grand ceremony, and post-ceremony. The marriage negotiation includes checking the palace compatibility (comparing the birth dates of the man and woman), writing the marriage certificate, and confirming the wedding date. The grand ceremony includes the groom's family presenting a gift box to the bride's family, the goose-laying ceremony, the exchange of greetings, the wedding ceremony, and the groom accepting the big table. The post-ceremony includes the bride going to the groom's house to accept the big table, and the ceremony of the bride meeting her uncle and aunt on the next day. The traditional Korean wedding is a concrete manifestation of Confucian culture. Its form has distinct ethnic characteristics and can provide a reference for the dissemination and development of Confucian culture and the study of Korean folk culture.
