China Tourist Attraction
Beijing and surrounding areas
🎧  Listen to Introduction

Huangdi City is an irregular square rammed earth city, 450-500 meters wide from east to west, 510-540 meters long from north to south, with a remaining wall 5-10 meters high, about 10 meters thick at the bottom and about 3 meters thick at the top. A large number of pottery and stone tools have been discovered in the site, all of which are typical of the Yangshao culture and Longshan culture about 5,000 years ago, which are consistent with the era of Huangdi. The ancient remains of the emperors of Qin Shihuang and other dynasties, such as Huangdi Spring, Chiyou Three Villages, Chiyou Tomb, and Upper and Lower Seven Flags, are still well preserved, providing unique conditions for studying the three ancestors of humanities, Huangdi, Yandi, and Chiyou. The Chinese Three Ancestors Cultural Tourism Area, with Huangdi City, Huangdi Spring, Chiyou Village, and Chiyou Spring as the main attractions, is attracting more and more descendants of Yan and Huang to come here to trace their roots and worship their ancestors.

Philosophy related to the heritage

Interpretation from the perspective of Eastern philosophy: From the perspective of Eastern philosophy, scenic spots such as Huangdi City can be seen as a symbol of the harmonious coexistence of heaven, earth and man. In Taoist philosophy, Huangdi is regarded as an ancient sage king who lived in harmony with nature and followed the natural law of "Tao". Every brick and tile, every blade of grass and every tree in Huangdi City contains the philosophical idea of "harmony between man and nature", reminding people to respect nature, follow nature and live in harmony with nature. At the same time, the Confucian idea of "benevolence" is also reflected in every part of Huangdi City. It is not only a commemoration of history, but also a pursuit of the ideal of benevolent government and harmonious society. Interpretation from the perspective of Western philosophy: From the perspective of Western philosophy, Huangdi City can be seen as a carrier of history and memory, reflecting human worship of past heroes and pursuit of ideals. In Western philosophy, especially ancient Greek philosophy, the concepts of heroism and ideal country are deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. As a witness to history, Huangdi City is not only a commemoration of Huangdi personally, but also a praise of human pursuit of justice, wisdom and courage. At the same time, from the perspective of existentialism, the existence of Huangdi City also triggers thinking about the meaning of personal existence. It reminds people that everyone can leave their own traces in the long river of history and contribute to the common ideals of society and mankind through their own actions and choices. Whether it is Eastern philosophy or Western philosophy, Huangdi City carries profound cultural significance and philosophical thinking. It is not only a witness to history, but also a symbol of human wisdom and spiritual pursuit.
