Te Wahipounamu – South West New Zealand
The landscape of this park in southwestern New Zealand is a result of successive glaciations that have shaped fjords, rocky coasts, towering cliffs, lakes and waterfalls. Two-thirds of the park is covered in southern beech and podocarp trees, some of which are more than 800 years old. The world's only alpine parrot, the kea, lives in the park, as well as the rare and endangered taka, a large flightless bird.
Changli Jinyuan (Beijing) Tropical Botanical Garden
Yalu Ancient Tropical Botanical Garden is the largest and most diverse "Southern Fruits and Northern Plants" planting base in Beijing, and is a key project of Beijing. The park was established in October 2006, covering a total area of about 300 mu, with a greenhouse area of about 64,300 square meters and 50 greenhouses. The park is 200 meters north of Zhuzhuang North Road, adjacent to National Highway 104, and is a natural oxygen bar for short-distance tourism and transit leisure. Since 2006, more than 40 tropical and subtropical fruit varieties such as sugar apple, guava, bayberry, carambola, dragon fruit, wax apple, yellow peel, loquat, papaya, mango, longan, banana, miracle fruit, cassia, breadfruit, avocado, macadamia, etc. have been successfully introduced into the park, filling the gap of Beijing's "Southern Fruits and Northern Plants" variety. At the same time, a large number of organic vegetables such as beetroot, celery, parsley, peppers, broccoli, South Korean baby cabbage, Guangdong carrots, celery heart, etc., more than 40 varieties, and continue to innovate and develop new varieties. The park is a tropical science and technology demonstration scenic spot that integrates tourism, leisure and entertainment, agricultural picking, accommodation and catering, and science and technology demonstration. In the park, you will appreciate rare tropical and subtropical famous fruits, rare flowers and trees, and recognize the wonders of natural plants, so that you can appreciate the southern style in the north, and at the same time feel the fun of picking and tasting southern tropical fruits and vegetables by yourself, and fully enjoy the agricultural results of tropical science and technology planting. It also provides an ideal base for science and technology education in primary, secondary and high schools. The main attractions in the scenic area include the Tropical Plant Sightseeing Hall, Tusibao National Exhibition Hall and Tusi Bar, which covers an area of 20,000 square meters. The forests in the scenic area are lush, vines are entangled, and exotic flowers and plants compete for beauty. Streams, fountains, plants, and animals form a magnificent tropical rainforest. The first phase of the project has now been officially opened to the public. The dwellings and totem culture of the southwestern ethnic minorities constitute the main line of the landscape, which makes people linger!
