Ancient Maya City and Protected Tropical Forests of Calakmul, Campeche
Located in the central/southern Yucatán Peninsula in southern Mexico, the site includes the remains of the important Maya city of Calakmul, located deep in the tropical forest of the Tierras Bajas.
