Sagarmatha National Park

Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries - Wolong, Mt Siguniang and Jiajin Mountains

Home to more than 30% of the world's population of giant pandas classified as highly endangered, the Sichuan Giant Panda Reserve covers 924,500 hectares, seven nature reserves and nine scenic spots in the Qionglai and Jiajin Mountains. The reserve is the largest remaining continuous habitat for giant pandas, which are remnants of ancient tropical forests from the Tertiary period. It is also the most important captive breeding site for the species. The reserve is also home to other globally endangered animals, such as the red panda, snow leopards and clouded leopards. They are one of the world's most plant-rich areas outside of tropical rainforests, with 5,000 to 6,000 plant species from more than 1,000 genera.

Beijing Zoo

Beijing Zoo is located on Xizhimenwai Street, Xicheng District, Beijing, covering an area of about 86 hectares and 8.6 hectares of water surface. It is the largest urban zoo in China. Beijing Zoo was formerly known as Agricultural Experimental Field, Natural Museum, Wansheng Garden, and Xijiao Park. It is the earliest zoo in China with the most animal species. It has a history of more than 100 years since the 32nd year of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1906). There are streams, lakes, rockery paths, green forests and flowers, as well as children's playgrounds and animal activity areas in the park. The park is also equipped with service facilities such as restaurants and kiosks. The animal activity area of Beijing Zoo is 60,000 square meters. There are special buildings for various animals, such as rhino hall, hippo hall, lion and tiger mountain, bear mountain, monkey mountain, deer park, elephant house, antelope hall, giraffe hall, panda hall, marine beast hall, orangutan hall, amphibian and reptile hall, songbird hall, small zoo, etc. The rare animals that are native to China and have settled here include giant pandas, golden monkeys, Siberian tigers, white-lipped deer, elks (four-legged animals), ponies, and red-crowned cranes, as well as representative animals from all over the world, such as chimpanzees from Africa, kangaroos from Australia, jaguars, Mexican manatees, hairless dogs, and European bison. The Amphibian and Reptile Museum has two floors, with 90 large and small display boxes, displaying more than 100 species of reptiles from all over the world, including the world's largest crocodile - the saltwater crocodile.

Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area

Huanglong Valley is located in the northwest of Sichuan Province and is made up of snow-capped peaks and China's easternmost glaciers. In addition to the mountainous landscape, there are diverse forest ecosystems, as well as spectacular limestone landforms, waterfalls and hot springs. The area is also home to a large number of endangered animals, including giant pandas and Sichuan golden monkeys.

Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area

Located in northern Sichuan Province, Jiuzhaigou covers an area of 72,000 hectares and is over 4,800 meters above sea level. It is composed of a series of diverse forest ecosystems. Jiuzhaigou is a scenic area with a series of narrow conical karst landforms and spectacular waterfalls as its most striking feature. The valley is also home to about 140 bird species and several endangered plant and animal species, including the giant panda and Sichuan takin.
