Fujian bodiless lacquer art originated from China's lacquer art of more than 2,000 years. It is known as one of the three famous Chinese handicrafts, along with Jiangxi Jingdezhen porcelain and Beijing cloisonné. Its artistic style had matured in the Qianlong and Jiaqing eras. Its founder Shen Shaoan explored the techniques and was unique in bodiless molding and surface lacquering technology, forming the characteristics of excellent craftsmanship, a wide variety of shapes, light texture, gorgeous colors, and mirror-like brightness. It occupies an important position in the Chinese lacquerware industry and has won awards at world expositions for many times.
