Tuanhuang Gongcha originated in the Tang Dynasty and has a history of more than a thousand years. The relevant records in the "Geography of the New Book of Tang", "Supplement to the History of Tang", "Taiping Huanyu Ji", "Tea Classic", "Hubei Tongzhi", "Lu'an Prefecture Records", "Yingshan County Records" and other classics fully outline the historical context of "Tuanhuang Gongcha". Tuanhuang Gongcha is made of high-quality fresh tea leaves and is carefully made through more than ten processes. It has the remarkable characteristics of tight and beautiful tea leaves, bright soup color, high aroma and fresh taste. In July 2016, "Tuanhuang Gongcha Traditional Production Technique" was announced by the People's Government of Hubei Province as the fifth batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage list of Hubei Province. It is the first "provincial intangible cultural heritage" in the tea industry in eastern Hubei. In December 2018, Xu Baiyun was announced by the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism as the fifth batch of representative inheritors of provincial intangible cultural heritage.
