Yichun Sanxing Drum (the third batch of provincial level) Yichun is located in the central and western part of Jiangxi Province. It was originally part of Yangzhou, located at the head of Wu and the tail of Chu. It is greatly influenced by the ancient culture of Wu and Chu. People always sing and dance and play drums and music after work or during festivals. Yichun Sanxing Drum was born under such circumstances. It has a history of nearly 200 years and is spread in the vast countryside. It is a kind of folk instrumental performance form that the people of Yichun love to hear and see. Its original name was "Sanxingban", which means the auspiciousness of the three stars of fortune, wealth and longevity. Using three drums with different timbres, two dang and a pair of cymbals, and matching national instruments such as suona, bamboo flute, erhu, trombone, etc., the melody in the performance process has a clear sense of rhythm, and the rhythm can be changed. The melody is ups and downs, staggered, forming a very lively scene of blowing and beating. The melody is cheerful and pleasant to the ears, and is deeply loved by the masses. Most of the tunes are lively and cheerful, but there are also sad and sorrowful emotions. On every festival, wedding, funeral, wedding or birthday, you can hear the beautiful music played by Sanxing Drum. It is increasingly active among the people of Yichun, with a strong local flavor and national style. After the founding of New China, Yichun Sanxing Drum has been further developed and has twice won the performance award of Jiangxi Provincial Folk Art Festival. In 1957, it was performed in Beijing and was received and praised by Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou, and received good reviews from experts. Old artists and music workers have created many instrumental music pieces using the performance form of Sanxing Drum, which have been adopted by central and provincial television stations and radio stations many times and broadcast at home and abroad. "Sanxing Drum" has jumped from the folk to the hall of art and has become a flower of instrumental music of national folk art.
