🎧  Listen to Introduction

Gold and silver craftsmanship is a traditional craftsmanship project of the sixth batch of representative projects of intangible cultural heritage in Lianyungang City. Zhang's silverware processing mainly processes: necklaces, silver locks, hairpins, hairpins, earrings, silver clips, necklaces, bell bracelets, ancient flower bracelets, heart pendants, various rings, headdresses, silver scissors, chisels, silver (copper) prints, etc. Basic procedures: melting, stripping, wire drawing, slicing, pliers (twisting), weaving, inlaying, welding, beautification, washing, and polishing. The production of gold and silver wares in Ganyu is smaller and more exquisite than that in Shandong and the north, but rougher than that in Jiangnan. Zhang's gold and silver craftsmanship can be made according to the drawing and demolded. Zhang's gold and silver craftsmanship is dexterous and exquisite in Qingkou area, and has been widely praised by the people. At present, Zhang Xiangbao and his son still insist on engaging in gold and silver processing, retaining the traditional craftsmanship, but with slight changes. The original "mouth-blowing fire welding" has been changed to "leather tiger" welding and silver melting. With the emergence of modern machines, large silver shops all use machines to make products, so the traditional gold and silver production process is in urgent need of protection.
