Suyu folk paper-cutting is a kind of local art with a long history and is distributed in most towns and villages in the district. Suyu paper-cutting is mainly based on people's daily life, including characters, flowers and birds, insects and fish, auspicious animals, myths and legends, folk stories, life scenes, mountain village scenes, and various objects that symbolize and imply happiness, wealth, longevity, happiness, and wealth. The paper-cutting production process is usually that the paper-cutting artist first conceives, then draws with a pencil, and then makes the work after it is mature. Paper-cutting has a wide range of uses. Most of the patterns used in real life are cut, such as shoe flowers, hat flowers, bellyband flowers, pillow skin flowers, tent flowers, purse flowers, and various clothing patterns. There are window flowers, wedding flowers, pot flowers, lamp flowers, fruit pot flowers, offering flowers, fireworks, candlestick flowers, etc. for viewing. In order to carry forward the art of paper-cutting, the District Cultural Tourism Bureau, together with the District Education Bureau, has established paper-cutting inheritance bases in Guanmiao, Caoji and other schools, so that Suyu paper-cutting can be inherited and developed in a new way. At present, many works created by Zhang Hong, a representative inheritor of paper-cutting, have won various awards at the national, provincial, municipal and district levels. She has also won the honorary titles of Top Ten Outstanding Inheritors of the City, Master of Traditional Skills of Jiangsu Province, and Third-Level Training Target of the Provincial "333 Project".
