"Children's Lantern" is a lantern dance, which is popular in Qingxi, Chayang, Huliao and other places in Dapu County. It absorbs the skills of Dapu's string puppets, making the lion and the ball become one, and is manipulated by one person, changing the postures of the lions playing with the ball. During the performance, accompanied by Guangdong Han music, the lions grab a colorful ball, throw it, catch it, and dance happily. The main routines are: "Male Lion Out of the Mountain", "Thrush Jumping on the Frame", "Meteor Chasing the Moon", "Cat Catching Mouse", "Lying on the Ground and Rolling the Ball", "Carp Standing in the Water". It fully shows the liveliness, cuteness and childlike innocence of the lions. In 1983, "Zi Shi Lantern" was awarded the Guangdong Folk Dance Creation Award; in 1986, "Zi Shi Lantern" was awarded the Guangdong Folk Dance Competition "Harvest Award"; in 1988, the Dapu Zi Shi Lantern Team participated in the performance of the first Guangdong Festival of Joy; in 1989, "Zi Shi Playing Ball" was included in the "National Folk Dance Collection Guangdong Volume"; in December 1990, "Zi Shi Lantern" was included in the "Chinese Folk Art Dictionary" published by the Ministry of Culture; in January 1997, "Zi Shi Dance" went to Beijing to participate in the "Welcome the Spring Festival" jointly filmed by eight provincial TV stations during the 1997 Spring Festival, and was broadcast on CCTV and many provincial TV stations.
