Architectural painting (Beijing architectural painting), colored painting is an important part of ancient Chinese architecture, with a history of thousands of years. It has been passed down to this day with the development of wooden buildings. Chinese architecture is different from Western masonry structures. Most of them are wooden buildings. They are light in size and unique in shape. The overall building complex is majestic and magnificent. It embodies the wisdom and sweat of Chinese working people for thousands of years. It is a collection of China's long history, culture and social aesthetic art. "Zhou built Lutai Zaoqiu, with paintings on the palace walls, carved buildings, and brocade covered halls." The prototype of colored painting existed in the Spring and Autumn Period. During the Qin and Han Dynasties, the pillars of the palace were painted in red, "the colors were delicate, wrapped in algae, and the text was red and green", and a variety of rich patterns such as figures, nature, and abstraction appeared. In the Tang Dynasty, the colors of colored paintings were mainly red and white, red and green, and five colors. Red and white were popular in the early Tang Dynasty, and red and green were popular in the prosperous Tang Dynasty. The Song Dynasty's "Construction Method" summarized that colored paintings were mainly blue, green, and red, with other colors such as red, yellow, and white as auxiliary colors. There were 109 patterns recorded, and there was a set of standard standards for colored paintings. Since it was forbidden to set up private gold furnaces to melt gold in the Song Dynasty, there were few gold ornaments in solid color paintings. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the use of color painting patterns and colors became more institutionalized. The magnificent Liangfang color painting patterns with green and blue as the main color became the most popular architectural pattern color in palaces and temples.
