The Zhu family bone-setting technique in Fuping County was formed by the Zhu family after inheriting and absorbing the traditional folk bone-setting culture, through long-term exploration, practice and summary. The first stage was the Zhu Kongfu in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, which opened the precedent of Zhu family bone-setting. The continuous exploration and practice of three generations of Zhu Shizu, Zhu Shuheng and Zhu Liyou formed the Zhu family bone-setting technique. The second stage began in the Republic of China period. The fifth-generation inheritor Zhu Yiwei improved the bone-setting techniques and drug formulas. In the 1960s, the sixth-generation inheritors Zhu Fenggao and Zhu Fengrong treated the wounded in the family clinic and Zhucun Hongqi bone-setting station. The Fuping County Government established the "Balidian Orthopedic Hospital" with the Zhu brothers as the core. This was the mature stage of Zhu family bone-setting technique. The third stage was after the 1990s. More than 30 inheritors and inheritor groups represented by Zhu Long standardized and promoted Zhu family bone-setting techniques in terms of theory, techniques, drugs and rehabilitation methods, forming the development stage of Zhu family bone-setting technique. Zhu's bone-setting technique is simple and has the characteristics of "stable, accurate, light and fast", such as manual reduction of "distal radius fracture" and "supraconedylar fracture of humerus"; some reduction techniques are original to him, such as "reverse reduction of shoulder dislocation", "fixed-point reduction of cervical rotation", "manual reduction, continuous traction and fixation treatment of fifth metacarpal neck fracture", etc., which fill the gaps in Chinese bone-setting textbooks. Zhu's ancestral series of secret prescriptions include "muscle and bone pain relieving tincture", "trauma and blood circulation powder", "Chinese medicine liquid", "trauma bone setting capsule" and "external wash". The combination of bone-setting techniques and ancestral medicines has brought the fracture cure rate to more than 95%, which is 8-10 days shorter than the conventional bone injury treatment course. This project embodies the value and characteristics of traditional medical culture, alleviates the social problems of "difficulty in seeing a doctor" and "expensive medical treatment", and has positive and obvious social functions. Zhu's bone-setting technique has absorbed the bone-setting experience of Guanzhong and southern Shaanxi, and condensed the essence of Shaanxi folk bone-setting therapy. Some original techniques and a series of Chinese medicines have enriched the Chinese bone-setting method, which has important historical value, scientific value and clinical practical value. In 2021, Zhu's bone-setting technique was included in the fifth batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
