Shifan Ancient Music in Donghan Village, Yi County, also known as Shifan Shenghui, is a kind of classical music introduced from the Qing Dynasty court to the folk. Because there are many musical instruments used in the performance, up to 108 pieces, it is named "Shi" because there are ten flags in the performance procession. Shifan Ancient Music in Donghan Village was taught to the villagers by a court musician named Gu Shantang during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. It has been passed down for nine generations and has a history of nearly 200 years. Shifan Ancient Music in Donghan Village has integrated various musical elements such as court music and Jiangnan Sizhu in the process of inheritance. The instruments used are mainly traditional folk instruments. The flute starts the performance, and then other instruments start the ensemble. There are two forms of performance, "Xingle" and "Zuole", which have the characteristics of court classical music. After Shifan Ancient Music in Donghan Village was introduced to the folk from the court, it was only performed during festivals and to welcome visits from superior officials. It is generally not performed for folk weddings and funerals. During the performance, the Shifan Shenghui still retains the pomp of the palace band. The performance team is composed of the ceremonial guard, the civil band and the military band. All the members are dressed in Manchu costumes. The lineup is large and distinctive. The performance is still the gongche notation introduced from the palace, including 25 civil music and more than 10 military music. The rhythm is simple, distinct and elegant, and the melody is high-pitched, beautiful and melodious, with a kind of Jiangnan silk and bamboo charm. There are many types of instruments used in the Shifan ancient music of Donghan Village, including wind instruments, string instruments, plucked string instruments and percussion instruments, including ancient and rare instruments such as huobusi, zhaqin and violin. At present, Donghan Village still retains the gongche notation handed down by the palace musician Gu Shantang. The musical form structure of civil music is divided into three types: single music, linked music and suite. A single song is a piece of music consisting of a tune, with different lengths, such as "Mountain Peach Red" and "Wannian Huan". A linked song is a piece of music consisting of two tunes linked together. A set of songs is a piece of music consisting of three or more tunes linked together according to a certain procedure, such as "Four Comings" consists of four tunes: "Spring Coming", "Summer Coming", "Autumn Coming" and "Winter Coming". Only more than ten martial songs in the ancient music of Shifan in Donghan Village have been preserved to this day, and the rest have been lost. The ancient music of Shifan in Donghan Village is taught by old artists in the way of oral transmission and heart-to-heart teaching according to the gongche notation. First, the rhyme score is played on the board, and then it is passed on orally by the teacher, and then memorized by rote. When singing and reciting the music score, modal particles such as "ah", "ai", "ya", and "de" are often added to fill the backbone sound, making the melody more full, delicate and full of charm. After singing the music score, the master will teach the instrument playing techniques according to the individual. Saving and protecting the ancient music of Shifan in Donghan Village has high academic value for studying the history of ancient music and the development of musical instruments, especially the court music of the Qing Dynasty. It is also of great significance for enriching Manchu culture and promoting and developing traditional culture and art. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.) (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
