Jianhu fireworks production skills, a traditional skills project in the fourth batch of representative projects of Jiangsu provincial intangible cultural heritage, was applied for by Jianhu County, Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province. Fireworks are a traditional characteristic industry of Jianhu, which originated in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties and has a history of more than 300 years. In recent years, with the care and support of party committees and governments at all levels, Jianhu fireworks have developed rapidly. The county has 18 fireworks production enterprises with an annual output of more than 1.1 million boxes. The products are sold domestically in 15 provinces and regions such as Beijing and Shanghai, and exported to more than 30 countries in five continents. The total amount of exported products ranks third in the domestic industry, and the product quality has ranked first in the domestic industry for 15 consecutive years, and is deeply favored by consumers from all over the world. With the development of fireworks art and the improvement of consumption levels, Jianhu fireworks have gained new vitality after the injection of high-tech. Senhong Fireworks Co., Ltd. and Runhua Fireworks Co., Ltd. are capable of arranging, designing, producing and setting off large-scale fireworks shows. The entire fireworks setting-off process is controlled by computer, and traditional fireworks craftsmanship is cleverly combined with modern fireworks technology. Sound, light, smoke, color and shape are integrated, accompanied by music and commentary. The colors are gorgeous and the theme is prominent, giving the audience a wonderful artistic enjoyment.
