Xinjiang
🎧  Listen to Introduction

Yutian County is located in the southern part of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is a minority ethnic group mainly inhabited by Uygurs. The clothing and small hats of Uygur women in Yutian County have a history of two to three thousand years. Among them, the unique Keqiktailipaike (small hat) and Pi Rijia of Yutian women are the only ceremonial costumes in the autonomous region. Keqiktailipaike is made of ink leather, flowered satin and Wangping velvet. It looks like an inverted small wine cup and trumpet. It is usually fixed with a pin to the right front of the white gauze scarf and hair. In the ceremonies of weddings and funerals, women wear a full set of Keqiktailipaike and Pi Rijia, which looks graceful and elegant. The Uygur costumes of women in Yutian County are precious treasures of the Chinese national clothing culture. Keqiktailipaike is the smallest hat in the world. Together with Pi Rijia, it provides precious physical materials for the study of Western Region culture. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.) (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
