Yao Family Returns Wish in Song Hall
The custom of returning the song hall vows by the Yao family is still popular in some villages of Longwei Yao in Yangshuo County. It is said that more than a thousand years ago, there was a woman in the Yao ethnic group who was particularly good at singing and had many apprentices in various Yao villages. The Yao people respectfully called her the Song Girl. Later, the Song Girl grew old, but she never stopped breathing before she died. Among the apprentices who were waiting by her bedside, someone guessed what the Song Girl was thinking: she was afraid that no one would sing with her after she died. So the apprentices made a promise to the Song Girl that they would take her back to the Yao village to sing with the apprentices once every five years. After hearing the apprentices' words, the Song Girl smiled and then closed her eyes peacefully. From then on, every five years, the Yao people in each village would return the song hall vows. Every time they returned the vows, each household made preparations in advance, advertised it to the world, and invited their relatives and friends to participate in the Yao family song hall vows. On the day of returning the song hall vow, the villagers will elect a family to be the host, use their main room as the singing hall, and welcome friends from all over the world. Each singing hall vow return activity lasts for three days and three nights to commemorate the Yao ethnic group's ancestor, the singing girl. During the three days and three nights of commemorating the singing girl, the singing continues and spreads everywhere. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.) (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
