The Ping An Butterfly Dance in Anwang Village, Shilong Town, Guiping, which is rich in Zhuang characteristics, was originally called Dancing Butterfly. It is a mold dance handed down from Ping An Village to celebrate the harvest and wish for peace. It is performed on festive occasions or major folk festivals, such as New Year's Day, Spring Festival, and March 3rd, to add to the festive atmosphere. The butterfly dance uses butterfly molds made of bamboo strips and paper painting to express the life interest of butterflies through various programs and movements. It is a traditional Zhuang folk dance. A pair of young men and women, holding flowers and flower baskets as the lead, and a group of accompanying personnel, dance and sing the story plots that people imagine. The performance has a unique national style and historical origin. Most of them are based on the tragic love story of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai. It is difficult to determine whether they will live or die, so they resolutely embraced each other and committed suicide by jumping off a cliff. After death, they turned into a pair of colorful butterflies and flew away. Cantonese music is used as the accompaniment. The Butterfly Dance commemorates and praises the indomitable fighting spirit of young men and women who dare to resist feudal ethics, break through old customs, and pursue a happy love life, which makes the dance have specific historical research and appreciation value.
