Lu's Acupuncture Therapy Lu Shouyan (1909-1969), a native of Kunshan, Jiangsu, studied medicine with his father, Peiqing Gong, a famous acupuncturist known as the "magic needle", when he was young. At the age of 18, he started practicing medicine in Shanghai. Because he studied acupuncture and moxibustion diligently, constantly summed up his experience, and treated chronic diseases with acupuncture, he often achieved miraculous results. Soon he became famous in Shanghai, and people came to seek treatment in an endless stream, and he became a famous doctor of his generation. During his lifetime, he served as the director of the Acupuncture Department of Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the director of the Acupuncture Department of Longhua Hospital affiliated to Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the director of Shanghai Acupuncture Research Institute, a member of the State Science and Technology Commission, a special representative of the Third National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a member of the First, Second and Third Shanghai CPPCC, a member of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, the vice chairman of the Shanghai Chinese Medicine Association, and the chairman of the Shanghai Acupuncture Association. During the ten-year catastrophe, Mr. Lu suffered cruel torture and died unjustly in the isolation room of the former Shanghai Acupuncture Research Institute on April 27, 1969. Lu Shouyan is a famous modern acupuncturist in my country. He has devoted his life to the cause of acupuncture. In adversity, he devoted himself to acupuncture education in order to spread acupuncture, regardless of his personal safety. In order to improve acupuncture theory, he devoted himself to research and creatively proposed effective acupuncture methods. He advocated acupuncture experiments at an early stage and promoted the development of acupuncture science. He wrote books and promoted the spread of acupuncture. He has contributed his life's energy to the development of acupuncture, which is mainly reflected in the following aspects: 1. Concentrated research to improve acupuncture theory; 2. Focused on pulse diagnosis to improve the accuracy of on-site diagnosis; 3. Conducted experiments to promote the development of acupuncture science; 4. Advocated the use of strange methods to improve clinical efficacy; 5. Founded the "New China Acupuncture Society" and correspondence courses, and published "Yanlu Medical Talk"; 6. Advocated warm needles, hidden needles and hidden moxibustion, forming his own unique style; 7. Improved needles and created "Shouyan 8. Cooperating with Shanghai Teaching Model Factory, he created an electric glass model of meridians and acupoints of the same size as an adult, which can show the relationship between the circulation and flow of meridians, and provide modern intuitive teaching aids for acupuncture teaching with recorded explanations; 9. He wrote books and edited and published works such as "Illustrated Explanation of Meridians", "Overview of Acupoints", "Collection of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Methods", and "Atlas of Acupoints", and published 22 papers to promote the dissemination of acupuncture.
