Gongs and drums are percussion instruments. They have a long history and are widely distributed. It is said that as early as the Spring and Autumn Period, my country had the tradition of playing gongs and drums for fun, and introduced it into the military field to boost morale. Gongs and drums are not only used on the stage of drama, but also indispensable props for the people. Whether it is playing dragon lanterns, running land boats, walking on stilts, or dancing yangko, these instruments are indispensable for cheering and fun. The birthplace of Zhaojia drum is Zhongzhao Village (formerly known as Zhaojia Village), Le'an Street, Guangrao County. It has formed a unique style and charm since the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. The tones of the drums are interspersed and changed, the patterns are renewed, the drum beats are fierce, and the rhythm is beautiful. As early as the 22nd year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty, that is, in 1896 AD, the gong and drum scores played by Zhaojia Village were famous all over the world because of their unique style; until 1987, for nearly a hundred years, flower boats, jade lions, green lions, etc. have successively appeared on the stage. By the 24th year of the Republic of China, that is, in 1935, it had already become popular all over the country, and the drummer Zhao Jingtong and the gong player Zhao Huilin were household names. During the Anti-Japanese War, the Zhao family drum became a weapon to inspire the fighting spirit of the soldiers and celebrate the triumph. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, under the care of the Party and the government, the Zhao family drum was well inherited, developed and promoted. Zhao Laishi, Zhao Keshi, Yang Changxiu and others successively took over the banner of the Zhao family drum. Since the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Party, the Zhao family drum has received key support from the local party committee and government. The villagers rehearsed and learned the full set of "Gong and Drum Music Score", and continued to develop and innovate on this basis. Through the excavation, sorting and inheritance of the villagers, this unique folk culture has been inherited and carried forward.
