Seal pad is a medium for conveying seal art. The seal text produced by good seal pad is bright and deep in color, has a three-dimensional sense, will not bleed, and the text is eye-catching and clear, and will never fade, which is reflected in the guarantee of the permanent value of the collection of calligraphy and painting artworks. Jixi County Yishoutang Cultural Supplies Factory is a private enterprise specializing in the production and operation of seal pads. It is also the only seal pad manufacturer in Jixi County. Its predecessor was the Yishoutang Cinnabar Seal Pad Production Workshop. In the late Qing Dynasty, Hong Yishou studied the production of seal pads at Hu Kaiwen Mozhuang, Guanghushi, Shanghai. After completing his studies, he passed on this skill to his son Hong Guangxun. Hong Guangxun later went from Shanghai to Nanjing to engage in the study of the four treasures of the study. After the public-private partnership in the 1950s, he worked in the Nanjing Cultural Supplies Factory. In the early 1960s, his family was sent back to Tantou Village, Jixi County, where they were originally from. In the early 1980s, he resumed his old business and led his son Hong Zheju to establish the Yishoutang Cultural Supplies Factory, specializing in calligraphy and painting seal pads. In 2007, Yishoutang ink obtained the trademark registration certificate No. 4043057 issued by the State Trademark Office, becoming the first in Anhui Province. "Yishoutang" brand ink is sold to major cities such as Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Wuhan, and Guangzhou, as well as to countries and regions such as Japan, South Korea, Australia, Singapore, and Taiwan. In 2004, when President Hu Jintao visited France, he presented a box of "Yishoutang" cinnabar ink in the "Han Mo Qing Yuan" study box as a national gift to French President Chirac. This was the first national gift that Yishoutang ink won for Jixi since the founding of the People's Republic of China, which shows how influential it is.
