The lyrics of Huaihe Drum are a combination of rhyme and prose. It requires rhyme. Generally, the first sentence does not require rhyme, but the second sentence requires rhyme. The lyrics are mostly seven-character sentences and ten-character sentences. The singing style is diverse, mainly flat board, stack board, flowing board, etc. The performance of the artist pays attention to flash, frame, spray, and penetration. Flash is to use props to express the sword light and sword shadow on the battlefield; frame is to express the behavior of the characters; spray is to require clear and powerful pronunciation; penetration is that the action and singing must be done in one go without dragging. The performance props of Huaihe Drum are simple. One person and one drum travel around, close to life and close to the masses. The actors come from the people.
