The Ditou Qingyun Stilts Old Association was founded during the Shunzhi period of the Qing Dynasty (1653 AD). It was originally named the Ditou Shengxingjing Yangge Old Association and has a history of more than 300 years. The association is located in the Qingshan Hall Office of Ditou Village, adjacent to the Ditou Baojun Water Association. The association belongs to the category of literary stilts. The appearance and posture are all borrowed from the performance mode of Peking Opera, and the characters are portrayed delicately. The core characters are composed of 16 actors. The performance repertoires are mostly based on the performance of the heroes of Liangshan Marsh, with "loyalty, filial piety, benevolence, righteousness, fishing, woodcutting, farming, and reading" as the central content of the performance. The gongs and drums and rhythms are unique, accompanied by melody singing. The stilt legs of the Ditou Qingyun Stilts are exquisitely made, and the carvings are delicate and realistic, which is very suitable for literary stilts performances. When the Ditou Qingyun Stilts Old Association performs in full, there can be more than 150 people, including tea samovars, round cages, hexagonal boxes, clothing boxes, etc., and there is a person holding an umbrella cover at the back, and there are door flags, high lights, soft pairs, hard pairs, lanterns, etc. on the left and right to walk with the association. The stilt team is led by the gong and the command flag. The team marches forward with the gong and drum beats, and the supervisor flag follows closely behind. When the Ditou Qingyun Stilts Association holds a full meeting, the team can have more than 150 people. The scene is grand and spectacular. Because it has been active in Tianjin for a long time, it has strong Tianjin folk customs and traditional cultural characteristics. The association was once granted an imperial title during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, and participated in the imperial meeting performances in the early days. Especially after the liberation of Tianjin, in the imperial meetings organized by the city and district, the association took an active attitude to go to the Niangniang Palace and Qianfo Temple to participate in the Taoist Association, and set up a tent in the Niangniang Palace. (All of the above are recorded in photos) Unexpectedly, when the Qingshan Hall Club was demolished in 1948, many props and items were destroyed or lost. After the founding of New China in 1949, with the support of all parties, the association was renewed and participated in the street parade to celebrate the founding of New China. In 1953, it participated in the Tianjin Flower Fair Competition. In 1959, the association's lantern pavilion participated in the National Lantern Exhibition. During the Cultural Revolution, street performances and activities were interrupted. After the Third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee, the association was revived in early 1984 with the strong support of the Party and the government, and with the collective funding of the villagers and the careful teaching of the old stilt artists. As a result, the Ditou Qingyun Stilts Association has restored its former splendor and glory until today. In 2009, the second batch was selected as a municipal intangible cultural heritage project.
