Vatican City (/xcbx88vxc3xa6txc9xaakxc9x99n/ (listen)), officially the Vatican City State (Italian: Stato della Cittxc3xa0 del Vaticano;[e] Latin: Status Civitatis Vaticanae),[f][g] is the Holy See's independent city state, an enclave within Rome, Italy.
